If we stand on thresholds together,
we can see our own Humanity.
We believe every life holds a story worth telling.
We know those near the threshold have deep wisdom to share; we want to hear their insights.
We offer storytelling services and invite you into a larger project of curiosity and discovery.
Welcome
Every person has a Voice—and the final chapter deserves to be honored and heard. We offer personalized end-of-life storytelling services that help individuals and families reflect, remember, and celebrate the journey of a life lived.
Whether you are nearing the threshold or walking alongside someone you love, we provide a gentle space for truth-telling, legacy-building, and wisdom-sharing.
Storytelling Services
Capture their life story. Record the legacy.
Basic Storytelling Sessions
One-on-one guided conversations to explore a person’s journey, memories, milestones and insights. We will work with their particular biography in a compassionate and sensitive way, encouraging them to express the deepest work and purpose of their life. These are basic sessions that might include simple audio recording and photography.
Grief & Memorial Support
We work with families and caregivers to craft tribute stories or memorial content that honors the voice and spirit of their loved one. We can write or help you write a eulogy, form a creative project to share at a service, or provide a funeral officiant if needed.
Creative Keepsake Projects
Through a series of developed one-on-one sessions and interviews with family members and friends, we will help to create a larger keepsake project. Turn stories into beautifully edited books, audio recordings, photo archives, and/or visual art prints to be shared with family, friends, and future generations. The goal is to create something tangible, a memento that is a bright expression of a person’s spirit for others to hold.
On Thresholds: A Project for All
Who We Are
Hannah Ford, Project Director Storyteller + End-of-Life Doula + Funeral Officiant
Hannah is a gatherer of stories and an arranger of words, a photographer and a spiritual companion. She is a mother, an artist, a teacher and a cookie-maker. She has an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, with additional training as a movement + meditation teacher and an end-of-life doula. Her adult life has been spent working in ministry, Waldorf education, and integrative healing settings, and she has experienced a year of chemotherapy for stage IV cancer in the midst of the pandemic. Hannah is the author of The Platinum in the Poison: Spiritual and Material Resources from a Year of Chemotherapy.
Hannah is here to hold light and to hand it to you: to share the resources that she has picked up along her winding path. She will thoughtfully listen to your stories and guide you toward sharing meaningful human truths that are at once mysterious, delightful, and heartbreaking.
Hannah conducts interviews, records audio, takes photographs, and works on content writing and design. She creates eulogies and officiates funerals.
Kent Ford, Storyteller + Consultant
Kent is a Waldorf math teacher, so by definition he is a storyteller at heart. He studied Philosophy at Davidson College, and his affinity for words, ideas, and deeper meaning illuminate all that he engages. When he is not teaching, Kent helps with interviews, visual art, and creating beautiful multi-media legacy projects.
